They still travel about as much as a standard rack, between 4.5 and 5 inches depending on which one you get. They offer them in power and manual, center steer or offset to either side.

And a word to the wise... The "fast" racks they sell are VERY quick.

the grand am rack has the advantage of being able to fit almost any vehicle. the tie rods attack at the center of the rack so their position can be changed by changing the width of the plate.

What year grand am is that from?

Im not exactly sure, they are on a lot of years though. There were probably 10 in the small junkyard I went to. If you have a choice of different grand ams find the one that is most disassembled. The rack mounts to the firewall and is a real pain in the ass to get out.

where would u put the pivot points on a rack like that. if they arent inline with the upper and lower control arm mounts wouldnt that give bad bumpsteer. Or is the rack build so that if a bump is hit it doesnt effect the other side?

The plate that the tie rods attach to is solidly mounted in the center to the rack. The plate can be any width that you want so you can place the pivot points in the perfect position.
