Needing a short rack and pinion

i am looking for a really short rear steer rack and pinion for my truck.  I am building my own control arms and want to make them as long as possible for more lift.  Anyone know of any short manual racks out there?  Went to the yard today but really did not have much luck
 
 

Chris Alstons Chassis Works makes custom length rack and pinion units.

Check out Howe and Sweet Manufacturing. They both make racks that about a foot long I believe.

we allways use sweets on our racecars. they make a great product!

how well of travel do they get?  I cant get anything too small i still have an engine to put up there.  I was thinking of getting one out of a crx or something.  I even messured a metro one and that isnt even that much smaller than a mII

Does anyone know how much throw one of those sweet racks gets?
