after about 5 hours of trying ive come to the conclusion its being a WOMAN!!!1. i filled the tank with 8 gallons of gas2. i can pour some gas into the throttle body and it runs til the gas is gone3. the fuel rail is not letting the fuel into the cylinders4 ive taken the fuel rail apart and cleaned it 3 times, nothing is blocking5. i have blown the rail out with my shop compressor & there is no blockage6. i plugged my ecu from my 2002 2.2 and nothing changedcompletely, absolutely stumped. waiting til 5 to see if a buddy can figure things out cause im at a complete loss as of now...............anyone have some insight that my dumb-ass is missing?<!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- / message --><!-- google_ad_section_start( weight="ignore)" -->
also..............
fuel leaves the tank, passes through the fuel filter, comes out the rail if i remove a line, all lines are correct, feed, return, evapstumped as all hell here<!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- / message --><!-- google_ad_section_start( weight="ignore)" -->

try the injectors. either they are clogged, stopped up, or they aren't opening do to no power to them. or your fuel pump isn't pumping enough pressure to open injectors. might need a new pump. connect a pressure gauge to it and see what pressure it is getting.

this might sound lame, but check ALL your fuses. Mine wouldnt start for 3 months, i thought i went through everything, then out comes my old man and finds a couple blown fuses in the fuse block.. you never know.. its always worth a look. good luck brother

i did check every single fuse in the box under the hood as well as the inside fuse block, and every one was good so thats not it (THANK YOU VERY MUCH THO).my buddy just brought over his volt meter and tested the fuel jet harness, it had power so they are getting the propper "orders" from the computer. tested a few grounds and they didnt change so im back to square one. everything seems to be on the right path except for the running part .another question. if i were to get another column, would that cause a problem? are they "synch'd", almost like some newer cars have a chip in the key? it might sound like im reaching here but im not a mechanic and im not gonna lie, i feel like a damn douche at this point

I bet you are not getting enough pressure from you pump my buddys truck did the same thing and that was his problem it was pumping fuel just not enough pressure

if it is new enough it will have a chip and you might need to have the key reprogramed did you do the column switch recently meaning did you have it running at all with this column before this started? also, i had a car do the same thing yours is doing (was on a chevy 1500) and it was my fuel pump not pumping enough pressure thats why i suggested trying your fuel pump. it should have a pressure of 45 to 65 i would say

If it does have VATS (chip on the key) sometimes you can turn the key to the on position and leave it there for 10 minutes and it will reprogram and start... sometimes. Otherwise I would watch the injectors while someone cranks to see if there releasing a strong steady flow into the tb unit. If all else do as mentioned above and hook up a fuel pressure gauge pour gas into the tb and see what pressure the pump is putting out. let us know.

"I bet you are not getting enough pressure from you pump my buddys truck did the same thing and that was his problem it was pumping fuel just not enough pressure"i have no clue as to the pressure it currently has (without a pressure guage) and i dont have the funds to buy one at this time.there is absolutely no fuel leaving the injectors tho if it is new enough it will have a chip and you might need to have the key reprogramed did you do the column switch recently meaning did you have it running at all with this column before this started? also, i had a car do the same thing yours is doing (was on a chevy 1500) and it was my fuel pump not pumping enough pressure thats why i suggested trying your fuel pump. it should have a pressure of 45 to 65 i would say well, its a 2001 sonoma 2.2, 4 cylinder so i have been told they didnt have a chip in those years but im not 100% positive. when i got the truck it had a blown head gasket so no it didnt run when i got it but every single wire was pulled and re-installed in this project, even the column so again, im stumped...... If it does have VATS (chip on the key) sometimes you can turn the key to the on position and leave it there for 10 minutes and it will reprogram and start... sometimes. Otherwise I would watch the injectors while someone cranks to see if there releasing a strong steady flow into the tb unit. If all else do as mentioned above and hook up a fuel pressure gauge pour gas into the tb and see what pressure the pump is putting out. let us know. i did just try a "passlock" attemt i got from another member which was supposed to "reboot" if anything was wrong with the compatability but it didnt work. i did remove the injectors and had my buddy watch while i turned the key, absolutely no fuel from any ofthe 4 injectors was present. almost like the computer is not allowing them to open on command even tho they have the correct voltage to do so......... ALL IDEAS ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED AND I AM DEFINATELY WILLING TO TRY ANYTHING AT THIS POINT, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

most auto parts store will loan you or rent you a gauge, and most around here will give you most of your money back as long as you bring back the tool lol. but its sounding like the fuel pump more and more to me. hope you figure it out.

Fuel is making it to the rail correct?
