Didn't Gumby have a stainless rear clip on the taco?

i also would like to see pics of a stainless frame and what the opinion is on building one. i was planning on doing one but was pretty much talkd out of it by biomax. he says that no matter how you build it, stainless will eventually break because it hardens every time it flexes. i already have all the stainless so i wouldnt mind some input on it.

Not to mention it is tuff as shit to cut, and cumberome to weld

^^^^^^was told that it would be similar to stainless in that it would also eventualy crack. maybe max could elaborate on this?

Gumbys truck had a stainless back half that I think was cut off for a redo by American Built Customs in AZ. There was a thread on it a while ago on here somewhere I remember. Boyd Coddington hot rods built a model A pickup that had an alumanum chassis under it, I think they did another as well.  If Max told you not to do it, why would you try and go over his head on it and do it anyways?  Let it be a lesson to do your homework first and then buy the material in the future and build a nice mild steel frame that will be safe and last a long time. You could probably use some creative painting and airbrushing to simulate stainless if its only the look of the material you are after. Good luck and happy building

My frame is stainless tubing there are pics in my profile. Only the back half is done so far and it has not been polished out yet. As far as the cracking I have never heard of that? Oh well hopefully itll last for awhile. I am not paying anything for it so if I have to redo it down the road so be it.
