One Sychotik ride after another,....... they keep bring'n em, and I keep knock'n em out

This time they brought me a 96' impala SS bagged on 22's, already black with minor body work but a shit load of things that needed to be shaved

Its going back black, with a simple chrome trim and a little pinstriping here and there. also the owner wanted all of the original emblems airbrushed back on the car .......
This is what the car looked like when it arrived at my shop.........

The first thing I did was remove all four of these.......

once were removed, so was the paint around the handle.........

Next filler plates were made and tacked in place.....

and then tack tack tack all little more......

until they were wedled solid

After smoothing out the welds, I layed the first coat of mud and moved on to the antenna, amblems, and trunk lock..........

antenna,....gone

emblems,....removed....and YAY!!! somebody clear coated over the old adhesive tape

Trunk lock removed and prepped........

filler plate tacked in place.......

there was a few dinngs, and some cracked fiber glass that needed some attention before I was ready to prime.........

also the trim had to be cut and re-shaped to fit the new bumper since the factory bumper had a completley different profile
(as you can see in these pics)

All the body work primed along with thge New bumpers that were, ready to be blocked now

finally in the booth and all taped up!

after spraying the black base I the layed down the design with blue fineline tape.........

next I taped off the rest of the vehicle so I could spray a silver base in side the design

Now that we're up to date it's time to bust out the air brush,.....in between where the chrome splits he customer wants some crazy airbrushing

Thanks guys. I never could bring my self to sell the taco lol....I turned down the offer of 8 g'sOnce I got my rendering back from Surface-dvd it was all over after that,.....I realized how stupid it would be to sell the truck i put my heart and soul into just to start all over again.I'll be starting a build thread for it real soon...... it's going to be called "Project: SICTACO"  I've had this car for quite a while now, but just recently am i getting caught up in the shop,....this car shouldn't have taking me more than a couple of weeks to complete  "Lost Cause"

Looking at that picture with the blue masking paper makes me think it would look pretty sick blue on top. Looks great though.
