how far will it be off the ground? if its like 1/2inch or so then idc. what if i had the cando a arms and drop spindles?? does anyone  have any pics of one laying frame with no z? i mean what it will lay without it. im not into building floaters but if it lays 3/4 of the frame then its no biggie to me

The crossmember will hit the ground before the front of the frame does. It doesn't matter what size wheels, or what type of control arms you have.

i think iv seen someone on here say that they trimed the crossmember down and plated it up on the opposite side is that possible? is it as simple as it sounds?? thanks for the imput tre5 LOVE that black mazda you built a while back

you can trim it so t will lay flat or just go buy a new crossmember that is made so it will lay flat and it will look better and probably be stronger than a hacked up stock one. fbi sells them and I think a few other companies do too and they aren't to bad considering the amount of work they would be saving you if you were to trim and replate the stock one. just my 2 cents.

Just Z it and save yourself some headache.

no matter what it will not lay flat unless you bag the rear to bottom out flat with the front

You can't just trim the x member to lay out in the front. If you are doing the work yourself a Z is almost free aside from your time and a bit of 1/8 to plate the joints with. You trans x member will need a rebuild as well to lay true frame. The stock one can be modified to work or you can fab up a new one out of some tubing.
