WOW Max calm down a bit, i dont recall Jance bashing Jasons work and clearly he liked the work he did to bring his truck to hills in the first place. In my opinion i think your on a bit of a power trip owning this truck but again thats just my opinion.

It's been 2 month since i posted my story about jason. Since then i've been pm by several others that had a similar experience with Jason and the list continues to grow, so I know i'm not the only one. I don't plain to "mock" Jason forever, because it's a new year and i want to move past it. What I decide to do with my truck is up to me at this point. I'm pretty burned out on it at the moment. I could settle on a name such as "The Dodge" and I would be fine with it, because the name does not make the truck over the top. the style, quality, theme and details make the truck what it is, not the name. The reason why I went and stayed at Hill's for so long was because I was a fan! I stuck with Jason through the hard times in his life because I thought he was a good guy that was going to help me out so I stayed, only to watch him build his vehicles over and over again, and then damage my truck. He had my whole truck and $5,000 and did nothing to it in 9 months. Red Rocker is a nice truck. In fact, just because of the interior and watching the build up in Truckin', was a big reason why I went to Lubbock in the first place. I WAS A FAN OF HILL'S HOT RODS. But if your read my story, you know why I'm not now.  When I shoot show coverage, I take pictures of anything and everything. However you won't find anymore pictures in my coverage from HHR because I have already deleted them off my server. I won't advertise his shop anymore. I have no reason to promote it. And if you know the history of Red Rocker, you should know that when Travis worked at Truckin' they ran the build up of the truck, just the same as they are doing now with Project Fastlane at Street Trucks. Not saying it wouldn't get published otherwise just telling you what I know about it. Like I said I was a fan...

I apologize if I seemed arragont, and on a power trip. I dont view myself any better by owning Red Rocker. It has been my dream truck since I seen the buildup in Truckin', so yes iam very happy to own it. I know that it was a favorite for alot of people though; Iam not gloating, its what I have been told. Iam not the builder or original owner, just another small step in the trucks life. It sits in a fancy shop and I see it once a month, maybe twice. This summer I plan to drive it lots, and show it lots too. No credit will be going to me; all to Jason and Travis. JANCE, I apologize if it seems like i snapped abit, but iam just getting tired of the whole HHR ordeal. I have had people asking me lots of questions, and alot of people pointing out its flaws. I know every truck is going to have them, its just kind of a slap in the face after all the build up to owning the truck. Now I have finally got my dream truck, and I just want to enjoy it! Props to you for you patience and persistence on your truck. I cant wait to see it done!

Trust me Max i'm just as sick of the HHR ordeal as you are. I don't want to be known as the guy that writes stories and only be remembered for that. I hope I haven't dug myself a hole, I've done what I think I needed to do so I could spread the word so someone else doesn't have a similar experience with Jason. You will hear success stories from Hill's and after what happened to me, I did some research from past clients and a former employee of his, and I was just as shocked as you are. What pisses me off the most, is now my truck has become a "must finish project" instead of a hobby. It makes no difference if people like my truck or if I finish it to please other people. It's my demo truck so I want it to be the best. And since I wasted time and money at Hill's and now my patents maintenance fees are due, I have to spend several thousands dollars to renew my patents that expire next year and to repair the damage to my truck. (I know broken record)  And I don't think it's just you that will be getting asked questions about their trucks that were built at HHR. I'm pretty sure everyone that has one has probably been asked a few questions or checked out their work closer. I can't and won't comment on the quality of their work because they never worked on anything of mine. All I can comment on is my experience. I have no issues with anyone, company, manufacturer or magazine that is involved with Jason whatsoever. This is all on Jason.

This truck is awesome!  If there are flaws I say good, that gives you a chance to improve it!  Personally I believe this truck deserves a full undercarage build! Take it to the next level!  You can certainly take the credit for that!  Of course this is just my opinion, but I would drive it for the summer then take it apart and do a full show frame and detail the suspension out to the same caliber as the body.  That way you have contributed to the build and the truck will be your own.   Plus you will have improved it, yet still kept it origional.  I can think of tons of trucks I wish I would have baught and done this to, like the 2000 fullsize MIC did the red one,  I went and saw it a few times but just didn't pull the triger and I regret it to this day! I say congrats on buying your dream and a piece of history to us truck guys.  Now make it your own.

Jance, I have never had any problems with Jason. I feel he is a great guy! I was 15 when I first met him, and he took an hour out of his time during the day to talk to me. Even to this date he will go out of the way for me, whether its talking on the phone for information, or meeting up with my dad to get me the latest Hills merchandise. Jason is a great guy! My best expiriences involve him. driptruck --- Thanks man I really appreciate the comments. I have already toyed with the idea of "making it mine", and i havent even had a summer to drive it. I have a vision, the paint would stay aswell as the interior, but the frame is definately on the list of new mods. Dreams are great, but they cant come too often. I just bought the truck a few months back and im only 19, so I think it will stay in its current state for awhile. If I had the funds, I would be all over it!

Jance: one good thing you have in your favor is..........there arent that many Dodge trucks in your year category thats layed out.Im pretty sure your Dodge is gonna make a huge statement in the truck scene here in the near future. I cant wait to see it completed because I love those Dodges layed out. And Max.....enjoy your RED ROCKER because its already yours.Even if you dont do one thing to it,its yours because you wrote the check for it.

However this might disappoint you and others? My truck will not be layed out because it will not have air bags. It will be a static drop with coil overs. It will be extremely low to the ground just like trucks used to be before air bags. All trucks look great layed out, but that won't be part of my plans. Most people think you have to use air bags these days to make a statement. With everything I have planned, not being layed out won't take anything away from the overall look of the truck. I would love to see it sitting flat on the ground just not what I want to do to please others

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by maxh  If you do name your truck "Red Rockered", it had better be damn amazing! Count the issues of magazines and pictures on the internet of RED ROCKER! Talk to the c10 guys and hear how this truck, as well as the other squares from the c10 king, are among their favorites of all time. I have a picture you took of Red Rocker. You must have thought it was pretty rad back then! All I can say is good luck! Id love to see another killer truck on the scene. And if you do pull it off, I know Jason will be right on your tail with yet another to crush the competition! ---------------------------------------------  Doesn't hurt that the truck was built by a magazine editor who was horny to get his own truck in the magazine whenever possible. Alot of people were sick of seeing it...   http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/off-topic/whatever/199967-my-letter-streettrucks.html http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/off-topic/whatever/199021-letter-street-trucks.html http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/off-topic/whatever/208145-my-letter-street-trucks-woohoo.html http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/off-topic/whatever/172414-magazines-seem-suck-anymore-imo-3.html    just sayin
