---------------------------------------------Originally posted by KEEFI like to epoxy prime all plastic once its cleaned cleaned cleaned, sanded, cleaned cleaned cleaned......... epoxy bites into plastic better than anything else ive ever tried and will not delam even in extreme heat. Once its epoxied and cured i sand with 180 and put 2 coats of 2k primer on then block and paint as normal ---------------------------------------------Have you ever used elastic primer?

ive never heard of elastic primer....ive heard of Sikkens Elastoactiv adative for their primer surfacer. The thing everyone seems to forget is there are more than 1 kind of primer. There is primers, primer surfacers, and primer sealers. All which have differnt properties and prep.

james I read the PDF file on it, is a product by spies hecker, and it simply appears to be an adhesion promoter. You still need to topcoat with a primer surfacer, this is not a sandable, buildable product from what I can gather. If there is one thing I have learned from spraying dupont for many years, its that they have a stupid name for almost everything, that tends to bastardize the product it is supposed to describe. -Brad

I dont like to use epoxy because it dosent sand as easy as elastic primer(surfacer). yes it is a spies-hecker product, and it also has different ways that you can reduce it depending on how u want the product to work. It worked really well for me on my interior and you can donkey kick the panels and dont have to worry about the paint because it is flexible. I simply used a Rally matte Black over top as my base.

3300 is spies elastic primer activated by 3301. 3304 is just and adhesion promoter like bulldog except 10x better. there 2k system 5400 series is a color system which when u add 9050 elastic addative (flex) to make it flexable to fill texture. you can also add 9050 to your clear to flex it. any questions on dupont/spies/nason just ask im a sales rep.
