Hey guys, been out of the scene for 5 years or so and have some questions about products.  I am helping a buddy bag his 62 sedan deville.  I think we are going to build our own cups and go with slam bags.  I think the RE7's will work all around, correct?
My main question is on valves and compressors.  He wants to do it right the first time and is not real worried about price.  I think we are going with 3/8 valves, we want dependability and dont care a lot about speed.  Which brand do you guys recommend?  The same with  a compressor, thinking one comp and a 7 gallon tank.  I am sure he will want to play around a little, so we might go with 2 comps.  Any specific ones to look for or stay away from.  The ob2 for AZ looks pretty good.  Again, price is not a big deal, since he only wants to do it once.

Thanks for the help,

James.

I would recomend ASCO valves and 2 VIAIR compressors on a 7 gallon tank. The reason to go with 2 compressors is so if one craps out you aren't screwed, the VIAIR's are dependable but stuff can happen. Check valves are a good idea as well, one for each circut out of the tank. Remember to use proper DOT approved fittings and line when doing your plumbing and you will have a long lasting and durable setup that you will enjoy for many years to come. Thats my 2 cents anyways, good luck.

I always used to use the COPPER PTF fittings from the semi place, i know some people dont like PTF but I never had a problem with the all copper ones.  I did have compression fittings, but slowly changed them all out for PTF.  Anything new out there for fittings?

I will check out the asco valves, i had been thinking about parkers.  Which one is better and why?  I have used parkers and a few others, but have never tried asco.

I am thinking the 2 viairs are the way to go as well.

Thanks a lot for the comments, James.

I found a kit on SD for 3/8 with everything we need.  It has the viairs and SMC valves.  I have had good luck with smc's, any issues lately with them?  Also, where is everyone ordering from?  SD was the poop back in the day, but the last time i ordered from them I was not impressed.  Give me some ideas, we are ready to order a kit. Are the RE7's the bags we want to order?  No hopping and minimal playing around, this is basically to get it low and ride nice.   Thanks again for the help!

go with nothing smaller than a re7 i had re6s the damn thing wouldnt lift. i have a 61. i would also run 1/2 but thats me. its not gonna hop just loys of damn weight.   remember these cars are over 6000lbs.  i had a crewcab dually chevrolet 1996 model. ran it over the scales at a salvage yard after taking metal it weighed 6400lbs  so theres a idea how much them cars weigh. ill tell you if i didnt watch what i was doing and held the switch with 1/2 valves and re6s on the rear the thing would hop between a foot and half to 2 feet.  the front wouldnt do shit.  but id run 1/2  just from experience. re7 be good but try a re8  fuck a re6

This is an older guy that has never had bags and we are bagging it for his wife.  I figured 3/8 would slow it down a bit on the dump, the SD kit comes with 1/2 line anyways.  I know my S-10 with 1/2 everything was way to quick for someone just cruising a couple miles a week.  Does anyone else have an opinion on the RE8's?  He is going to order the stuff in the next day or so and we are going to end up using what we buy, we wont have time to try several different bags.  Is the RE7 about the same as a 2600 lb bag?

Thanks again fro the reply, James.

I had RE7s in the front of my truck but switched to RE8s.  I now get a little more lift and a better ride.  Its a fullsize with V8 so Ive got a bit of weigh in the front end.  I would recommend getting the bigger bag if you can fit it.  Make sure and get good shocks.  Look into Bilstien.  Good luck
