i dont think youd need to make that big of a gusset the frame looks sick the way it is youd jus be adding unnessesary stuff you could probally make fishplates for the top/bottom and sides of your tubing is wat id try

is your crossmember attached to your center section of frame or the back half?

both but mostly the back half because of the existing gusset

--------------------------------------------- Originally posted by SlammedStroller --------------------------------------------- Originally posted by KAOSS I've seen Max mention that he runs rails from the top of that rear cross member to tranny cross member to help with that issue. ---------------------------------------------yeah unfortunately I don't think I have enough room for that between the crossmember and the cab... basicly what max is doing is adding some triangulation from the front of the cab to the back of the cab... that's kinda what I was getting at with this only not as long of a triangle as max mentioned --------------------------------------------- This combined with the picture that draggin95niss posted will get you where you need to be.

you're flex point is at the joint of the backhalf and the rails under the cab...if you are going to eliminate the flexing, you have to strengthen that area and spread the load over the biggest area possible...i drew up a small idea and just tried to incorporate your existing design and strengthen your frame at the same  time....

HEY BRO!  i'm no engineer  and i've had alot of trucks in the past , but inyour first picture is your motor mounted to the frame??? cuz it looks alittle crooked bro?  and  the angle of your notch looks too steep??  so if i was you i would double check that!! good luck bro !!!!!

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by draggin95nissthis is what i was talkin about and i think it would be all that would need to be done...---------------------------------------------okay I did this idea and here's how it turned out... I had some better pics when the cab was off but I accidently erased them...the good news is it does look a lot better than my idea.. the bad news is I get exactly the same ammount of flex as I did beforeI already have the brackets I drew up in my first post cut out,  just gotta cut some holes and go weld em in
