like someone said, youll get a bunch of different opinions on this. i had my bed linex'd after raising the floor and sheeting the sides. i used body filler and 80 grit and it turned out great! its been almost a year and it still looks brand new and not a single problem or flaw has come thru. i highly recommend taking the time to sand it near perfect like you are going to paint it, linex DOES show imperfections like paint does. just one more tried and true story for ya <>

if all else fails, contact your local line x sprayer.

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by 974doorIs there any chemical you can spray on the welds to make sure there is no rust or anything left in there that will make it rust?--------------------------------------------- your can use a weld thru primer that youll wanna spray behind and raw metal area your welding.spray a light coat of good quality etch before seam sealer let dry before seam sealing

stay away from your one part seam selaers they shrink back exposing your spot or full welds even after line x. you two-part sealers are best like fusor. Norton has a panel bond that works great #04616 comes in different cure speeds dosent shrink back and also will help bond the two panels(still should fully weld). just cut a plastic filler spreader to a nice curve and smooth as you go. any sealer you use u should let cure to specs before line x to avoid cracking or shrinking
