how are the front and rear cyulinders held in. are the collars over the cylineders welded onto the doughnuts that you had cut out? do you need a pivot joint on the top of the joint if the botton is going to pivot on the arm? please any helpl would be great. in very interested in hydrolics for the front of my civic.

The threaded colar is not welded to the top mount. It is held against the top plate by the weight of the car. Hydroholics is coming out with a new product that will hold the cylinder at the top while allowing it to pivot. However, this is how it has been done for years with no problems.

ok i wasnt saying that it was wrong i just had no idea. do they normally have alot of noise when going over bumps and stuff? im just looking for another option for my civic instead of strut bags.

Usually don't make noise...on some crazy roads there could be a clang here and there - it's metal on metal, very easy to eliminate any metal to metal contact.   Strut bags are a joke.  They won't sit you low at all and are very expensive.  Depending on the year civic you have we have a practically bolt-in strut system.

I have been looking through this thread and just had a couple of questions about the setup in this car a was wondering if you could answer for me if you don't mind...

What size cylinders does it run front and rear?

Are the accums sitting at the factory charge or do they need to have the pressures adjusted to get a good ride in a lighter car like this?

Does the front cylinder slide into the fork adapter or does it simply rest on top and get bolted to it?

Are the bolt in donuts this car has available thru your company?

Sorry for the laundry list of questions. I don't have a lot of experience with hydraulics but have an opertunity to do a setup in a friends 98 hatch so I'm doing my homework first.

The cylinders are 8" front and 10" rear

The accumulators are at 350 all around (precharged setting)

I do sell the top plates that will bolt into the strut towers through Tre5 Customs. Send me an email to purchase them tre5peter@cox.net I sell a complete bolt on setup for the car which includes the rear forks and front cups as well as the bolt in upper plates.
