Hello hello hello! Damn I have posted a thread in quite a while!!!!

Its been an insane past few months and lately I've been staying busier then ever! 2009 was just an awesome year for me and I just wanted to thank everyone for all the support......I know this year is going to be even better!
I have quite a few very sic vehicles lined up (including a SEMA build shhhh ) and a lot of "secret" projects I haven't been able to show you until their "deubue"

Looking back on 09' one vehicle stands out to me the most....... It was an hand-me-down Alitima with a long story behind it........anyways long story short it was a friend-of-a-friends, daughters, soon to be first car (she was only 15) and this thing was beat all to hell! And the customer had a strict budget of $3000.
Now I don't normally take on vehicle this rough mostly because I don't have time for them and I try to keep my name mostly in the show scene not the beater repair business lol. I just couldn't imagine being a 16 year old girl in high school driving a beat ass Altima.

So, I dubbed this one "Beater-of-the-Year" and began giving the exterior of this thing a well needed "teenage girl friendly" make over, lmao............

So this is what they brought me.......lol

And the close ups of the damage causing this ride to be dubbed "Beater-of-the-year"

^^^ Now you see why I nominated this one to be my "Beater-of-the-Year"

Well, first things first.....time to fix all this fucked up ass body work

And finally!!..after Hours of body work I was final able to prime and block all the spots that needed attn.......

Once all the body work was final blocked with 600, it was time to clean her up and roll her in the booth!!!

Here she is all taped up and ready for a well needed makeover

And I'm off to the shop!!!....I'll finish posting the rest of these pics later tonight

Thanks!

Ok, so back to the thread

As usual, I always start very paint job with a fresh coat of sealer

Next,..Since this was going to be a 2-tone I went a head and sprayed the top color first.......

To creat the top color I laid down a plain-ol'-uggly-ass navy blue (no metallic, no pearl)......

I then went back over the blue with three different kinds of diamond-crystal pearls (turquoise, indigo blue, and a royal blue/purple) to create a one of a kind almost kamelion color that sparkles like crazy!!!

Once the paint had flashed, it was time to start laying down the 2-tone design with 1/8'' blue fine line tape.......

I tried to take step by step pics of the taping process (Since I always get asked how its done lol)

First I start from the back of the car and lay down the "top" line of the design wich will be tribal flames

Once the top of the flame design was laid down on both sides of the car, it was time to come back and finish the design with the bottom line.....

Here you can see the first tribal flame stretching down the side on the car.....

http://i349.photobucket.com/albums/q392/LostCause_photo/altima58.jpg

Then I start on the second set of tribal flames (right over the first set)....... simply by repeating the process , top line first..........

And again, after the top line of the design was laid down, I came back and completed the design with a bottom line..........

And I'm not finished yet,......I decided to make it a little more complicated and throw some stars in the mix (since this is going to be a girls car, and girls are complicated anyways lol)

again using blue fine line tape....

Once the design was completely finished I began the fun part ......weeding out and separating what I want to stay blue (the top color) and what I want to be silver (the bottom color)......

then everything that was to remain blue had to be masked off so that everything else could be sprayed silver

I do this with regular masking tape ( I used to use the 12' tape but the shit just doesn't stick well enough )

Next I come over it with 6'' paper........This makes it real quick to tape the plastic over the top

Then I cover the top in plastic and its time to spray the bottom color woot woot!

3-coats of silver base later lol........

Now that every thing silver is silver lol...I had to go back with blue fine and re-outline any parts of the stars that were on the silver....what a bitch I know...

Once the stars were brought back into place it was time to tape em' off.......

Now it's time to spray the stars!!! I went out of my way to make sure the stars were sprayed silver, so that I could come back over them with a deep blue kandy!!

Mmmmm I love me some kandy!!!!

Next The stars were untaped and it was time to start with the drop shadows and what not.......

and I'm only half way through this thread lmao!   Thanks again! "Lost Cause"
