iv got hydrolic lifters in my 2.2 now but i want to switch to mechanical ones.. what year b2200 has them?

If i remember correctly, it is only the older 2.0L that have the mechanical lifters. Good swap though, mazdas can get a little noisy sometimes.

Mazda motors 1972-88 have  mechanical lifters. 1989 and on are hydrolic.

my trucks an 88 and it has hydrolic.. so it aint just the 2.0 that has them? like an 86 b2200 should have mechanical lifters? this helps me greatly if it's correct! thanks

You need the head or the rocker assy off a 2.0 (Any year B2000). B2000=2.0L, B2200=2.2L, B2600=2.6L. As far as I know the B2000 is the only engine from 86-93 that had mechanical lifters. I took a head off a 2.0L and installed it on my 2.2L back when I had my 89 B2200. The heads are the same it is just the rocker assy that is different. The hydraulic lifters always float very easily which is why I went with the 2.0 stuff. Ran like a champ and it is still on the road as far as I know. Now it is bagged and body dropped somewhere. haha

all 2.0 had adj. all 2.2 had hydro. trust me ive been through hundreds of motors. if you go to the auto store the hydro pegs are pretty cheap tho. if i remember right about 100 for all of them.
