Well  I'm starting my next project on my ride, ( 88 2wd Extra Cab,Toyota), suiciding the doors using stock hinges & latches. This was first done to my knowledge by Brain Jendro, owner of The Chop Shop. I have the photos from a article that ran in Mini Truck'in back in 97.Have the donner doors & have removed two of the 4 end panels that I'll need.  Trying to plan this out best I can from the info that I could gather! Before I start cutting into my truck ,I seem to have questions as to how it ,the doors will seal again,as the photo's show most of the rear body jam being removed!Would very much like to have more info, from Brain would be best or anybody that as knowlege of this mod !Any & all help in this mater I would be very grateful in getting. My window for completion is now 5 weeks,to be done before Danger Zone!!                                    Thank you in advance                                     Gary/Truck Action

Have fun with this one, Gary. I will check it out at DZ. I don't envy the work you have in store for you.

heres some pics of one i did for a customer years ago...  it wasnt too bad ... i tried to make it kinda like factory, whit the door edge going in the body , like it does the fenders....basicly a plate behind the hindges mounted good and some adjustment made into it....   i used the factory inner door too for door strength ...    theres few things i would have done different on the door...  but after 4-5 years, his door is still like stock.(no sagging ..) main problem i had was his Damn targa top causing the body to flex..        hope that helps some .... /......

Hey, Mat,thanks for the photo's!What year truck is that & how did the the doors seal??Also did you cut away the rear jam to move the mounting plate, bar into position? Looks like the jam was cut only @ the back edge rearward of the curve?

its a 1995 Nissan Hardbody..yeah, i cut the whole jam out and put in a solid plate for the door hinges , then reshaped the door jam some ...     so i used the stock rubber seals and the door opens and shuts and seals like stock...  if you notice, i even put the door stopper back in .. so the door dont swing out too far like most SD doors.. lol...
