I had one on my '99 Taco and plan on putting it back on it when after I finish redoing my suspension again.  I loved it!! It does draw alot of amps, like 190 lot...so you pretty much have to upgrade your entire charging system to make it work to optimum capability.   I ran a 170 amp alt. "the biggest I could find for my taco" and I also ran TWO optima yellow tops with a battery isolator and the second battery was dedicated to my oasis.  I bought everything except the battery cable and oasis off of ebay and all-in-all it was around $1200 bucks just for my comp and charging system upgrades so an engine driven comp is def WAY cheaper but the Oasis still kicks alot of ass in my opinion.  After running it I hate how slow my viars are, not that they are bad, just not nearly as quick.  My oasis would fill my 5 gal tank from 100-180 psi in less than 30 seconds while driving and a little more than that at idle. Hope that helps.

You will need to get a high output alternator and upgrade the big 3 on your truck and wouldn't hurt to add another battery. also your truck is 20 years old, your alternator is probably not putting out anywhere near what it should in general yet less the kind of load you're going to put under it.

I had a full size with a v6 i just put a new alternator from a 454 on it ran two optima batteries one for the truck and one for the oasis, i ran a isolater between the batteries so if the truck need it could take from the compressor battery but the compressor couldnt take from the truck so the truck would always be good and the oasis couldnt kill the truck battery. and never run the oasis with out the truck running it does help to be driving.

so im gonna upgrade the ole chargin system ..where can i find a higher amp alternator to hold up ?? any recomendations???

my question is have you heard one run under load yet?u have a blazer so its pretty much gunna have to be in the cab with you... your gunna go deaf!!!! i absolutely hate these things, if you want that kinda cfm get an engine driven

Ebay usually has pretty good deals on built up alts and you can get a warranty on there with alot of companies too.  Or if you have a local battery shop that rebuilds them, that can also be a resonable deal too.  I go to a place here in town called Organ Battery and they charge a dollar an amp up to 200 amps.  They always show me on the bench what it will put out after they build it and they usually peg their meter at over 200 amps.

Like Tom said, I converted my Oasis to a EDC just buy buying the Clutch of line. In my opinion, EDC is allot easier to deal with and a cheaper rout to go. You can spend 150 on the clutch for the compressor, or you can buy a good alt $200+ and a good battery or two $150+. How ever you want to do it. I know I have a 200 amp alt and a red top and at one time two red tops, and it still wanted to kill my truck after a short time of running it. Plus the CFM Output that the compressor is capable of is not met with that winch motor setup on the oasis, Its Capable of allot more air.
