tagging a paint job

hey guys what do you think about having your paint job you just payed for tagged? is there pros and cons ?

as far as a guy spray painting over your fresh paint? thats an ass-whoopin and a half.

the pros would be getting to use your gun if the guy that tagged it wasnt supposed to and the con would be jail time

are you reffering to the painter or shop painting their logo on the vehicle, or vandalism ?

depends on if he cut you a deal and you knew he was going to do it before hand , the pros if the guy is a great painter then you have some proof that he painted it also if he did a shit job you got proof lol. the cons maybe you didnt want it on thier. and the pros for the guy that painted it free advertizing

I paint my logo on almost EVERYTHING I Paint....People Love it, it almost makes the paint job "Name Brand" I think of it like an artist signing their work. like Ben said.....If it's a well Known Painter/Artist than its bragging rights.....if its just some dudes repair shop then he should probably cut you some kind of deal The one thing I cant stand though,.. is when shops put their contact info in a paint job...Tacky tacky tacky

Would you charge the same, or more?

I would want that name on there if it was someone like Brian or Keef but if it's just some random repair shop I wouldn't 

LOL well I guess you can just call me 'ole Tacky Master. From a painter/shop's point of view, if it's a rolling work of art then it's only smart to include your logo (and sometimes the contact info) because not everyone who sees the work will know who did it. Now I usually make sure they are cool with it being on their vehicle beforehand so asking FIRST is the right approach. And I keep it discrete too. People I do work for are completely okay with it. They WANT people to know I did the work and they are more than happy to tell people. PLUS they know they are helping me build my business AND STAY in business –– which hasn't been easy this last year. The owners aren't always available to hand someone a card or something so the contact info is the ONLY way someone who's interested may be able to locate you.   I have had customers (race drivers) tell me not to sign it or logo it in any way because they didn't want other drivers to hire me to do an even more kick ass job than they were getting. Later the word gets out because they are so proud of the job they can't help but spill the beans as to who did it. Or I've been hired by another shop to paint under their name and thus they didn't want my signature anywhere –– which I'm okay with as long as I'm paid. I think every one of my customers gets a deal with me so I don't think I should 'discount' my work because I'm putting my info on their vehicle but that's how I feel about it.   I don't know if this is a big problem or not but think about this –– EVERY singe car that rolls off a dealership lot usually has their name and logo on the back somewhere.
