ok so you just put the zerk fitting in the plug that goes in the side? how often does it need grease?

From what Vince at the Choppin Block said, fill it up once a month with hi-temp grease.  Maybe more if you drive a lot.

My sanded was oiled, they came on early 80's chryslers and I made mine for my truck for 30. worked great, puped tonnes of air.  Just make sure to get one with a plug on the side fo the body, those are the r12 ones which are self oild.  The r143a ones are not.

ok i found one on ebay. does anyone know if a sanded can be turned either way and work the same?

can anyone tell me if the sd508 can be turned either way like a york, or if the can only go one way?

Here is what sanden said when i asked if it could turn either way It depends how old the compressor is. 5+ years ago we off-set the angle ofthe fix gear key to reduce gear lash of .xxx mm Now if you run backwardsits a little noisy it will work fine and cool just some added noise. Many customers do it anyway
