Do you guy's in Cali have fix it tickets? Like if you scraped the tint and take it to the courthouse they will dismiss the ticket? They do it in Oregon , might check into it. Ron

I just got a fix it ticket for tint, clear lenses, and no license plate light. I know for sure that there is no tint allowed on front windows in Cali. I'm not sure how much a cell phone ticket is but the tint shold've been a fix it ticket for you. I chalk it all up to being a minitrucker... it's just the crap you have to put up with in order to enjoy the ride you have. -Stew-

So this doesnt apply? California Window Tint Law California Tint Law Enacted: 1999 HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN CALIFORNIA? Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In California, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window. Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 4 inches of the windshield. Front Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in. Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used. Rear Window Any darkness can be used.   But yea, its at the cops descrection usually if its a fix it ticket or a citation. But then again, they have to prove you did something wrong. If he didnt meter it or he cant prove you were on your phone then he doesnt have anything that will stand in court...

It may be different here in Canada, but usually when you go to court they just offer you something lower and you pay the fine. Then again you could argue that the cell wasn't being used and show them the records. I know on my phone it tells you what time the call was made. Also for the tint. I have never been bothered and I had 85% up front. You could just ask for them to check the actual tint(ness) of the windows and if its legal then get it dropped. I know of a few people who were getting profiled by the police and getting pulled over weekly for nothing. Could argue that the truck catches attention but you were doing nothing wrong. Like I said though, In Canada if you fight it you usually get it reduced. but you lose half a day of pay standing in court.

I can tell you that in the north bay I gotten pulled over a couple times for tinted windows only fix it tickets.  The last time I got pulled over was for no license front plate and a warning on the tint.  That was CHP that nabbed me.   He put on the ticket warning for front window tint and correctable front plate.  Took it to local police station and got it signed off.   The officer said though that I could still get pulled over for the windows and get a ticket to get them taken off.  Basically it is totally up to the cop.  As for the cell phone I thought it was like 20 bucks.  Hope this helps.  Sry for the book.

Just pay the fine and move on. You can't fight city hall. Sorry. I have been there, done that. I look at it this way. We all have heard the MT scene referred to as a sport. Okay, This is my sport. The streets are our courts and the cops are the Refs. The trucks/cars are the equipment we use to play the game. Now and then we get a Ref that calls us on a penalty. Depending on the type of penalty depends on weather or not we get ejected from the court that night (Impound) or we take the ticket and keep on playing that night. It's a game that's all. Take your ticket pay the fine tell the cop to fuck off and keep on playing! Cheers!
