Yall let me know what you think.  Apparently, Gavin would have had to notch the floor pan up into the rear seat for the 4 link, so after some brainstorming and help from Dallas Hot Rod Mike, he decided to do a 2 link with a Watts link.  I'm a tiny bit bummed that i don't get to do side to side, but honestly i'm too old for that shit   And after the going on 3 year wait on the burb, i'm just going to be happy to be driving it and laying it the hell out all the time, hahaha.  Mike from Dallas Hot Rod Parts hooked me up with the Watts link, i've been super happy with the quality of work he's done (he did my control arms as well), his stuff is bulletproof (literally, he uses armor plating in most of his stuff, lol).

This Wats setup bolts to the diff and the bars come with tabs to weld to the notch. It is setup to not stick out past the notch so in suvs like the Tahoe and burban it will clear the gas tank. In this suburban I used the stock tank but moved it up to sit above the frame rails since stock they sit below them and would drag when laid out and riding low. Its nice to be able to run a 2link with a wats instead of notching the rear seat cushion for a 3 or 4 link.

Edited: 5/21/2010 10:22:16 AM by iLLblazerAR Plate stands for abrasion resistant, not Armor plate. At my last job we used it to line grain bins. Its not structural steel and is prone to cracking when welded to disimilar metals. (such as welding AR tabs to an HSS Tube rail). Not trying to be a dick but as someone whos taken a lot of courses on material properties and strengths, its pretty frustrating to see this stuff being used in the wrong application and being touted as 'bullet proof'. Good article on fabricating with AR: Because AR plate has such a high hardness (a 400 grade AR plate equals about 42 Rockwell C), heavy equipment manufacturers and job shop personnel rely on it to protect equipment from excessive wear.  Typical applications include backhoe buckets and teeth, bulldozer blades, dump truck beds, ore and coal chutes, augers and aggregate conveyors.

Note: AR plate is designed to protect equipment against wear.  Typically, AR plate should not be used in a structural or load bearing design.  http://www.hobartbrothers.com/aboutus/cracking_mystery/

Hey Joel he never said it was AR plate. The material Mike uses is excess from the plasma cuts they do when making armor plate panels for armored cars. I would assume its Armor Plate not AR plate since they build bullet proof cash cars and government cars. I could be completely wrong but I go to mikes shop alot and they build armored cars in the day and he does Dallas Hot Rod Parts at night.
