First, I hope it's okay that I've posted this here.  I honestly haven't posted a lot on here.  I'm looking to get a new air tank and dual pack of compressors.  I'm not sure what tank to buy.  I have a Mits might max and I'm looking to get the dual pack of vi-air 444's or 480's, what size tank would anyone recommend that I get?  I'm running 8 valves, so how many ports would be best for me to get on a tank?  I don't play with the switches a whole lot, so..... is there a certain business or website that anyone can recommend for me to get a deal on a good tank?  I'm not looking for the BEST tank, but I'd like one that should last.  I know some will say a tank is a tank.  Thanks

I got the aluminum tank from AVS, I got the 9 port 5 gal tank with the drain. I also have the 444s, but I am still in the process of bagging the rear and getting everything together. If SD mails out my 4 link tomorrow then next weekend I should be done with the rear and will be able to let you know more on how I like the tank and compressors.

alright man, great.  how much was your tank from AVS and is it rustproof?

John, yes...an Aluminum tank will be rustproof.  I'm sure Max and a dozen on here can better correct me, but a steel tank will serve ya just fine.  Just need to make sure you run appropriate check valves, filter, etc.  Also, draining the tank helps.  I pitcock on the bottom would ease in that.  Post up pics of the mitsu at www.mightyram50.com!

thanks johnboy.  what checkvalves and fittings how many do i need to hook up dual compressors?  I want to buy all new fittings.  Do you know if i order my comps from hornblasters if they would possibly throw in any check valves and/or fittings or give me a great deal on them since i'm already buying the comps?

No, aluminum tanks don't rust but they can corrode. Regardless of what tank you get make sure you put a drain on it and drain it periodically. VIAIR Compressors come with check valves built in the leader hose, you will want to put a check valve on each bag though. What I am doing is installing a T on each bag so that on 1 end of the T is the dump valve, 1 end of the T of course gets installed onto the bag, and the other end of the T will have a check valve and then the PTC fitting for the air line. I am only running DOT air line until I can get a chance to hardline everything. This is my daily driver so it takes me a little longer. The reason I am installing the T and check valve that way is so that if I blow a line my bag will stay inflated and it also keeps the air from trying to push back into the tank etc.etc. My tank was 80 bucks, I doubt anyone would throw in check valves for free, they can get pretty pricey. I paid 29 bucks each for mine from suicidedoors.com
