Thanks OzPlanet and Tony for your replies! Now that I gave up I will always wonder "what if" but it's really no different than when the build up was taking place. It's been nice not thinking about it everyday and trying to get things in order. Even though Tonneau Gate hasn't been mass produced (yet) I still feel that I have a marketable product that would hold its own once it was being produced. My goal was always to have one of the best Dodge Rams ever built sitting at Sema with my invention which was built "out of pocket" and without sponsors. I was putting everything into the truck so it would take care of my marketing and advertising plus it would give people a chance to see a new product in person and get an idea of what it would be like for their truck. Since everything was going to be top of the line, I was hoping to be a "spokesman" for the other parts that I used on my truck, (catalogs, website ads, magazine ads etc) which would keep me in spotlight that would make tonneau cover manufacturers take notice in my invention and my designs. I always felt it would be hard for a tonneau cover company to pass up an idea from an individual that was getting a lot of publicity on his own and doing it on a big stage. Just like location, location, location, is important for any physical business, being everywhere you can via the internet, print, and at shows was always my marketing technique to create a frenzy over my product. Why wouldn't they want to "team up" with someone that was getting the attention and demand from the public?
