this kind of reckless fabrication "work" should be handled like they do over in the desert regions with thiefs. steal once, cut your hand off. steal twice, cut the other hand off. same with shoddy fabrication work. one hack-job = cut your hand off, second hack-job you lose the second hand. the lesson would be learned pretty quickly i recon.
side note: how is the lawyer taking the potential case assuming your telling him you wanted "custom" work to a ride? always wondered what kind of legal action could be taken? was there a contract?

If we lived by those rules, then Mike White would be roaming around with some pretty short nubs.

it's an agreement for work regardless of whether it was custom or not or if there was a contract. no different than remodeling a bathroom. a contract sure does help because those usually spell out that the winning party can also be reimbursed for legal fees, something you can't sue for if its not in writing in most states. but just like anything dealing with lawyers it's going to get pricey. cost me about $3500 when I sued a shop for work done. at the end of the day, I broke even on expenses getting it out then got $1500 of $5000 I gave the shop after my attorney took his $3500. then had to pay double to get someone to fix it. then have had to pay others to fix their work but thats a whole nother story. all in all, the only ones who truly win are the attorneys

wow, that's what happens when you cut corners and try to save a few bucks. It sucks to see somethin like that happen. RESEARCH the shop before you let some 2 bit motherf#$&er cut and weld on your truck!
