Hey Guys, Don't worry, John Mata is a great guy and I will still be around helping him out!  I had to take the best steps for my family and in doing so it was the right move to make! Thanks everyone for all the love and support, have no fear I'll still be working on the mag and helping John out every step of the way! Looking forward to the new challenges and chapter in life.   

If so John has some huge shoes to fill ! John did the write up on my truck and everything I have seen from John I like . Good luck on the new jobs Mike and John !

I am devastated over this news...completely and more so that I had to read it HERE.  In my opinion, nobody can replace Mike...I am gonna go cry in the corner now...............

Eff... well, I liked Mike as an editor and as a person. Very down to earth and took the magazine in a very positve direction. Here's to hoping John follows in his footsteps. Good luck to both of you.

Mike is the man... I was helping at out MT when Finnegan left before Mike got there. I know now that he was definitely the man for the job when it became available to him.   What most of you don't realize is that working at any magazine is a lot of work for fairly low pay. You need to appreciate these guys more. Mike has now made a decision to move on which will benefit him and his family. But he will have stories, friends, and colleagues that he will never forget. I have a few of my own memories with Mike as well and I even have some video footage I can go back on if I ever feel like blackmailing him LOL!!!   On a serious note... Mike had a nice talk with me last year at West Coast Nationals because we've each shared a personal loss that many people don't understand. Even typing this chokes me up a little and makes me remember what he said, how he said it, and the genuine concern he had for how I was doing at the time. I don't hang out with Mike on a regular basis, but when I needed the right person to talk to, he was there.   Good luck Mike at your new job and if you need my help with anything you are doing there, you know how to reach me.
