If you're spending $1400 a wheel I'm assuming they're billets. In that case your rims will probably never make it on those super skinny tires. I demolished 2 chrome rims on nitto 255/30/22. I had no choice it was either hit the pothole or side swipe a semi. best thing to do would be to have a smaller rim for daily driving then throw on the low pros for a show.

P- You seen the yota and it's wheels. My front tire has 2.7" sidewall and rear is 3" sidewall.

A 235/30/22 would be 2.8" sidewall. I couldn't find a 285 in a quick search but a 275/25/24 has 2.7" sidewall. Of course this is perfect theoretical situation. My concern is less with dinging a wheel hitting a pothole and more with scratching the lip because there isn't much tire on there.

you really think so ryan? youd be less concerned with bending them ya think? i would never do a tire that was too skinny for a rim so i personally think i wouldnt have that problem but who the heck knows.

Like if you got a pothole that is a perfect circle the hit will be equally loaded across the tire. But what if you hit the edge. The wheel drops into the hole and the pothole deforms the tire. Then the "edge" of the pothole scratches the rim a bit. I did this to the HD last week and its on a 265/35/22.

The biggest thing running small tires is checking the air pressure religiously. If you stay on top of it and keep it maxxed it'll reduce chances of a problem. I haven't driven the yota much, but when I did I just went slowww
