Finally got the motor and trans out of the donor truck...it is a 5.0 EFI out of a 96 F150

Im using the small saches hinges on my 68. They work fine, but I did mod them a little.

Nice truck! I called Saches about those hinges and they said it wouldn't hold the weight so I didn't get them...how are they working out for you? Any side to side problems?

Thanks! The side to side is not that bad. That was also my concern at first. Im not sure but I think your hood is a little bit lighter too. I tried using fox mustang hinges first but I couldn't get them to work, maybe after a few tries I would have made it work.Check out the link, I posted some one elses red truck like mine, I think they used 95 f150 hinges. The rest is all me trying to make my own. I think the idea is to mount the hinges as far up as posible.

I assumed they were the large ones.....and that was my plan, to use the hinges off of my parts truck where I got the motor from..it's a 96 f150
