Well apparently I havent updated this in a while. Between work, getting the house ready to go, and projects in the shop that have been wrapped up, its been pretty busy. Heres what has peen pushed out recently.

Backhalfed an S10 drag truck for wider tires, lower stance, coilover setup, narrowed up a 9inch rearend, and 4 linked:

Built an exhaust manifold, intake manifold, 3inch exhaust, and misc other parts for a VW Golf drag car:

Swapped a Northstar driveline into a Cavalier:

Just a few more little things to wrap up, then its time to hit the road!

Well, its been a busy couple of months! April 1 was my last day of work, I hit the road BC bound on April 2nd. I stayed in Abbotsford with a close friend, and did some touring around. BC is beautiful country! I stopped in Langley at a shop called Kaotic Kustoms, and got a bit of a tour ( I forgot my camera tho). While we were cruising around I found this lil gem in a parkinglot (I dont know whos it is. If its yours, dont be mad?)

I had a great stay in BC, met some cool people, drank some drinks, and just generally enjoyed myself. On the way home, i stopped in Lethbridge and hung out with Steve for a night, shooting the shit and checking out his 73 Mazda. Its all blown apart, and he has some really cool stuff in the works for it! I dint take any pics, cuz its pretty torn apart, but this is how it used to look:

Then it was off to Manitoba. I stayed in a small town an hour south of Winnepeg with family friends. While I was there, I popped in at Mindliss Metalfab, and talked to Joel for a while. I also snapped some pics, which I somehow managed to lose... Joel was cool to talk to, very down to earth. He gave me a quick tour of the shop, which was pretty cool. I ran into him again at a small show in Winnepeg the next weekend, and snapped some pics of a few things hes worked on.

I also found this little gem in the backyard of the house I stayed at:

Then it was time to head home for my sisters wedding, and to knock out a few projects in our shop.

After the wedding, the first order of business was to swap the engine in my truck. Just before I had left for BC, the oil pump gave up the ghost, pretty much wiping out the bottom end. I sourced a "new motor" for it and spent a few days dropping it in. Then we put a shift kit into Robs International. We helped a buddy out a bit with an engine swap in his CTS. Also finished up a utility trailer for another buddys old man. and lastly, we started building a bagged trailer for Rob.

Its getting near completion, so ill be heading out for the States in a bit over a week. Cant wait to start checking out shows and shops, and meet some cool folks!

Im in New Mexico now! At the beginning of June, I swung back through Manitoba to visit some people, and also keep my little brother company on his way through to Edmonton. It was quite a shakedown cruise, The only major issue was a crappy outer tie rod end (Dont use used parts). Got that fixed somewhere in Northern Ontario and headed on.

We spent the weekend in Carman, Manitoba (about 1 hour south of Winnepeg) where we just chilled and hung out with some friends. On monday, my brother headed west, and I crossed the border due south. The crossing was a bit of an event, apparently not a lot of younger guys just take off for a couple months to just drive around through the states. But the border guys were pretty cool about it in the end, and wound up asking a ton of questions about the truck and air suspension in general. Then they cut me loose, and I headed south through the Dakotas. I swung west and checked out Rushmore, that was pretty neat!

Then I headed south through Wyoming and Colorado. Wyoming is some serious cowboy country! Ive never seen so much rolling grassland in my life. And tons of antelope too.

Colarodo was interesting, a change from grassland in the north, to mountains in the middle, headed towards desert in the south. Unfortunately i forgot to take any pictures... Finally I hit New Mexico. I remembered about my camera and snapped some pics. Ive never seen desert before, so it was definitely something different. It seemed like every time I came over another hill, the landscape changed, from yellow grassland to scrub to almost forest, and back again.

I stopped and snapped a few pics of the truck in a couple spots

Then it was onwards to Alamogordo, the first stop on the tour. There I met up with Brian Rose (Pinkey505). I checked out his garage, then he showed me around a bit.

He has had the pink truck in its current form for about 10 years, and put plenty of miles on it. Its in incredibly good shape! Its static dropped, and from the sounds of it, going to stay that way. He does have anothe project in the works tho... sounds like some serious plans for this thing!
