I first off want to say thank you for the opportunity of having one of the coolest Christmas gifts possible to the most deserving person in the world. This truck is actually my 67yr old father's truck that I built him from stock 2yrs ago. I never intended on bagging his truck from the get go. I actually sold my first bagged S-10 that I bagged from new back in 01, and with that money I bought a used 02 GMC quad cab and saved up $2,500 to bag that next. Something came over me though. I remembered back in the days when my father worked 100+ hours a week just to support his family. He obviously wasn't around much as we were kids and now that we are all moved out and on our own I really wanted to give back to him. I decided instead of using the money for my own truck I would hijack my fathers and build it for him. I thus did so and spent my entire spring and summer with every free second I had which isn't much since I have a family of my own now to work on my father's surprise. After about a month of not knowing what was going on, he stopped by one day to see what I was doing to it. He then found out the intense time and labor that I have been working on for the last month. When he finally saw it he was so happy to see that he could enjoy something that his 3 boys enjoyed so much. At that point he was over every day to help with the build. For the last 2 years we have done something to it since the day I started on it. As it sits right now I have over 200 hours into it but it has been worth all the blood, sweat and tears I put into it. It sits right now on a full air ride suspension with a custom bridge kit that I created. I got it to lay out on a set of 24" rims which took some work. The door handles, 3rd brake light, taillights and tailgate handle were all shaven off. A set of Caddy taillights were installed in place of the stock ones along with a rollpan which got molded in. After all the shaving and bodywork that was done the truck was put into primer in preparation for paint. The interior is still stock and in need of some major updating. His plans were to get it in paint some time in 2011. I would love to finally surprise him this time with something amazing to get his truck that much closer to being complete. He really does deserve this and you would see first hand if he was picked for this awesome giveaway. I understand we live on the other side of the US but don't let that be a deterrent. We have always wanted to get out to a show out that way and this would be the perfect opportunity. As for helping with the project. I know it wouldn't be as much as you may want or need but we definitely could stop in and help out a few days before heading back home. I know this sounds like a story book but I really do wish the very best for my father and with your help I can make it happen. Below are the 22's and stock green paint in the 1st year. The ones in primer and the 24's are how he rolls it right now.
