so me and couple of my fellow freaks were at my buddies house grinding away on a truck my buddy goes to get some sunglasses from my blazer and walks up on a guy trying to break into it.. ol body yanks up on the door handle sets the alarm off which sets the rest of us off and we run out there to see a guy runnin away.. were all fat and couldnt catch him and theres nothin but short fences in the neighborhood and it was a colored man of decent height so those fences werent shit for him... but im just glad he didnt get in... my advice.. invest in a good alarm... cuz if he woulda got in and tried to start it somehow he woulda been screwed cuz the alarm has a built in killswitch ;) pay a little to have great protection

Good alarms are good in letting you know it's getting jacked...but a properly placed solenoid controlled by a remote is a fail safe and cheap way of making sure you truck is unstealable. I had a solenoid on my starter, and a solenoid on most all electronics in the truck only thing live when solenoid wasn't engaged was my radio. Everything else was dead...you could turn the key and not get power to anything. Kind of a homemade fail proof killswitch. Great peace of mind for sure. They can vandalize it, butthey ain't jacking shit. Lol

Solenoid I cant help you with. But, you can cut all your vehicle power with a switch that is designed for this. Its a battery kill switch. You put it inline between your battery and everything else. I have 2 batteries. My kill switch will run battery1, battery2, both batteries at the same time, and shut off all batteries. great for towing in enclosed trailers, and long periods of storage too. You can also get a simple 1 battery off switch. These can be mounted anywhere, you just have to install it in the battery cable. Can be in the positive or negative. The switch I have and the simple switch can be found at a trailer/R.V. supply store. But I've also seen the simple switch at Pepboys, Autozone, and Harbor Freight. I've also seen them where the switch is a removable key. If your stereo head-unit has a memory, you wont need to mess with it. But if it doesn't, the stereo head unit will need to have its own dedicated wire ran for it. So all of your settings and presets will stay. Hope this helped you guys out.
