Anyone else? Still looking for 10 people before setting a date. The price we're thinking of is more then reasonable for a weekend worth of learning.

In a basic class we want to teach people how to build things safely in their own driveway or garage. We're going to go over ways to make things without the expensive tools and equipment but still getting a similar result. Most home builders have more time to devote to a certain project and with enough time things can be built without using some of the expensive tools. We can also go over tools we use on a daily basis if you're looking to purchase a few things and want to know the best bang for your buck.

Basically we're looking to host a fun weekend of banging on metal and educating people.

What about classes just about sheetmetal work. That something I would really be interested in, maybe more that just one weekend.

That sound like a great idea. I bet me and a couple guys would come down for that. What's the cost and is it a saturday/sunday deal.

We're looking at $250 for the weekend. Lunch would be provided on both days. We would work up a small reference book to take home and a place to add notes to it.

I think at first we would do one day on suspension and chassis and the other day on sheetmetal. In the future we could get as in depth as needed in any aspect of a build really. Starting out we were trying to cater to the average home builder that would want to be more educated all around.

There are some very good classes out there that are specific to one aspect of the build, there are some where you go to the classes and use their tools in hopes that you will buy the tools at the end of the class. We're not going to do that. We would try not to turn on some of the tools that you may not have in your own garage, that way when you left the class you would be able to repeat what you learned at home.

We've gotten really good response for this so far. We will have a limit at 15 people and it is getting close. We're looking to have the first classes one weekend in March. We haven't set a for sure date yet, but we are working on it. It will be a two day class focusing on basic fabrication. One day will be suspension, one day will be sheetmetal. It will be as hands on as we can make it within our insurance limits. If anyone else is interested please email me, robbie@pacificcoastcustoms.com

Thanks! After we finish up the basic class we will get a feel of what everyone would like to expand on and go from there as what would be next. We hope to have a class one weekend a month.

is max teaching the classes?

No Jeff, our suspension fabricator Ryan Smith will teach the suspension class. He has many years experience building suspension systems as well as funny cars and gassers. I will teach the sheetmetal segment of it.
