Gas prices suck ass. But I need a big truck for work, so I just gotta charge alittle more for what I do. All my gas is a write off, but I still gotta pay for it. My truck eats Xb's and shits Prius's.

:XL:

I was thinking about dropping a V8 in the Mazda, not anymore. Gonna rebuild the 4 banger and keep my 30mpg!

Ive been thinking of getting rid of my quad cab Dakota for a v6 or 4 banger extended cab mini truck. My Dakota only has a 3.9 v6 but gets about 15-16mpg. My guess are because of the bigger tires and what not.

Thing is though I know my Dakota is a solid truck and I havent had any problems out of it. Its a decent looking truck but I dont think I'd have a big market to try and sell out here in Oklahoma (baja style). Plus I dont drive much anyways now that Im done with school and work from home. Just not sure if I want to risk getting another truck and possibly having mechanical problems though.

Everyone's just going to have to try harder to save some money for shows, especially longer distance shows.

I stopped driving my wifes 2006 V8 Quad Cab Dodge Dakota years ago. It has 14,000 miles on it now, lol.
Only use it occasionally, and for any hauling or towing, not many trips around town.
I would think most "show" trucks dont see thousands and thousands of miles a year, there probably are some exceptions.
But I dont think it will bring back the minitruck, minitrucks havent really gone anywhere, theres always going to be a place for them. But it mainly comes down to size and comfort, not gas prices for me.
So I'll pay $200 to fill up my Excursion with a smile on my face......and if my Ranger ever gets done, that will be my gas sipper...

Look at it in the big picture for a second tho... Gas has been steadily going up in price for the last 10 years or more, and there are just as many or more people traveling to long distance shows than ever before, gas going up 40-50 cents then coming down 40-50 cents a few times each year is normal, its nothing new, its been 10+ years of it now.....

I personally WILL NOT stop driving anything of mine just because it gets below the "acceptable" gas mileage, its important to me to drive what i want, and not be forced into a fucking prius because thats what the governments around the world want us to buy and drive. Thats fucking terrible. I want kids of mine to grow up knowing what kind of vehicles built this hobby of ours. We can do other things in our lives to help save the environment , and maybee it will be a pain in the ass and a change of life, but I would rather do that then be forced into a go cart, that has batteries that can take me 30 miles.

Pay the price of gas, and drive that gas guzzling truck into the fucking ground, then build another and do it again.

The funny thing is my daily last time gas went up people would say I bet you hate coming to get gas in that thing. Then I tell them I get about 20 around town and on the road it gets 29 and they look at their Toyota Corolla and say WTF. Then I smile my Daily is a C6 Vette. It gets better mileage than my Astro.

This is why i'm building my D^3 Diesel Dragged Daily...

supply and demand... with a little side of Greed... that's why fuel prices are so high... I wouldn't blame Obama... It was Bush.. he is from texas and backed by the big oil tycoons... why wouldn't he help his buddies out? they spike the price so then when it comes back down it doesn't seem as bad as it was... thats why we went from the low $2 to low$3 and it didn't seem so bad as $5 we paid for a few weeks. I'm not a anarchists but I do think there will be an uprising comming.. from what i've seen the american people are pissed about getting pushed around.. giving money to thirdworld countries that later attack us and corrupt government fat cats that work for a little while then pull severence for the rest of their lives.

by a huffy.. if we were not so dependent on crude oil then they would not monopolise on us.

to each there own.. GOD Speed Man!

This is not quite true. US oil companies are having to buy crude from over seas because the current administration is refusing to grant almost all drilling permits. This has occurred since the BP disaster. They officially ended the moratorium on drilling but yet refuse to let anyone drill so who is manipulating the market? Listen to what OBama preaches. He is dedicated to the development of "green" energy. Most Americans don't give a sh*t about green energy if gas is cheap. Most green technology does not work well enough to turn a profit therefore it must be subsidized by guess who? Blaming Bush doesn't work anymore, what we have is exactly what everyone who voted for OBama voted for, whether they realized it or not.
