so i bought an ob2 kit from gauge to replace my oasis. install went great. wired everything correctly and identically to one another. really easy to wire the relays. the problem im having is i keep frying relays on my passenger side compressor. positive wire that is supposed to hook up to the battery is 2 gauge, much more than the required 4 gauge. compressor is grounded with a through bolt to the vehicle on the bridge, and lastly the pressure switch is wired to the corresponding terminal on the relay block itself. ive now gone through three relays on the passenger side compressor and am at wits end. i keep frying the relay at the compressor side power wire of the relay. first time it smoked and then the comp shut off. second and third time both relays melted on first fill from 150 psi with both compressors running. any ideas?

sounds like you have everything hooked up correctly Id double check your ground to make sure its solid then Id call az up and ask for a new compressor probably a bad bearing or motor only other option sell the good one and buy some viairs thats what I did and never going back

These compressors seem to be pretty power hungry, i had alot of electrical problems with mine but my stock electrical system was too weak to handle the load.

thats a good point and im on my way to upgrade batteries but i already have a HO alternator

did you do the "big 3" wire upgrade with 1/0 wire? Its a pretty important part of upgrading your electrical system especially after upgrading to a H.O Alt.

yep was running an oasis and had to do the upgrades. sold the oasis to minimize the current draw

What size tank do you have?

Get ready for some "customer service"

You probably have relay bounce and the contacts welded shut then overheated the contacts further.

slim 5 gal. just one. i ordered new relays from AZ and burnt one out, leaving just one good one for the non problematic compressor. also ordered 3 relays from gravity werks. they came with new factory female spade terminals for the relays. so i cut out the old connectors right at the end of the connector itself and put the new ones on. filled the tank a few times now and still no problems. looks like it could have been a bad connection inside the relay block itself.
