a loose connection on the wire end could have very well been your problem all along. loose connections cause heat, heat destroys
relays fast

After many issues with those style of relays on compressors I refuse to use them. When installing dual packs I use a 80amp solenoid. I pick them up from a local dealer for $10 and some change each. They make wiring so much easier as you don't have to splice your main power wire and split it to 2 relays. The ones I use are similar to this...

yea but what about splitting the two factory 80 amp relays with one of that type? i thought about doing that myself but didnt want to void any warranty

big hit the nail on the head. void az's warranty, they are hard to get to stand by it anyways. i like the ob2's dont get me wrong. i used one of the solenoids big posted to run both my ob2's on my dually. if you actually read the comps are only supposed to pull 35A at load so the 2 together are 70. in all reality if you do it how i do motor loads in ac you should be running 1 for each compressor since its draw times 125% to factor in your heat. i have 1/0 ran to mine then the comps connect to the solenoid. 1/0 because i had it is all. but mine has been fine since they first came out. the ob2's that is. its not a daily and im not switch happy so you make have a problem if they run alot and get super hot.

well when i was going insane trying to figure out what the problem was i bought 5 new relays and have 2 sitting stand by now. so after those fail, which i hope they dont, ill switch it up.
