I have been looking to stockfloor my ranger. I was looking at some underslung frame pics and thought it was something different and looks cool. So my questiion is, Can you guys share the pros and cons of this kinda set up for a bodied truck. Thanks JIMMY

im building one as we speak...its on a 98 f150 single cab...from fire wall back...i like it because i can keep my stock bed depth but dont like i wont get much life. it depends what size wheels you run...the bigger...the more lift you get. im notching my frame right under the axle about 2 inches(im using 2X4 3 1/16 wall) to get acouple more inches. dont have pics tho =(

My old Nissan had one. I wasn't too crazy about it because it seemed to me to limit your maximum lift height. But I'm no suspension expert and the guys using it thought it was the greatest. Progress pic:

Like mentioned, i'd have to say the lift would be the biggest con. Max lift you'll get is the bottom of the axle to the ground minus the frame height. The smaller the diameter wheel and tire, the less lift you be able to get. If you go over the axle but keep the rails tight to the axle tubes it shouldn't be any higher than the differential, if it is higher it won't be much. You'll have to have clearance for that anyways.

I dont see much of a reason to do it unless your trying to save floor space in the back of an SUV, its a great option for that.

So would this be something to put on a daily driver. Also how much lift do you really need in the back, I fgure once I BD it I wouldn't need that much lift only in the front. JIMMY

I guess that's a decision you'll have to make based on the pros and cons of this style of frame.

IMO its nice to have enough lift to untuck the wheels and tires. I have a bag over axle setup on my truck which nets about 6.5"-7.0" of lift and since the wheels and tires are so close to the besides and they don't untuck it can be a pain to get them off.

I can build it however you want bud like stated above there wont be much diffrence in bed depth with the rails going over the axle as itwill be within an inch of the diff
