if you want your axle hitting the frame all the time then do it. on my ranger it was 8" max lift with 28" tall tire. i changed the rear because i couldn't get the tires on with the bed on.
i built an underslung chassis for my ranger, its a square body which tugs lugs on 15s, lol and i gotta do a tilt bed or something for changing rear wheels and accessing suspension components. im setup for 20s, so i got some work to do.
Ive never really understood this style of set up. You arent saving much bed space because you can build your rails tight to the axle and they would be about level with the top off the pumpkin anyways. Plus it always seems like crossmembers for mounting the 4 link start to look out of place with these style frames.
