So this is my first year attending SEMA and I was hoping maybe some of the experienced individuals could chime in on any tips they have to see as much as I can and where to be various nights of the week. I fly in Tuesday and leave on Saturday. What should I know before landing? (This is also my first time to Vegas)

Prepare to be overwhelmed. The best way to see as much as you can at the show is try to cover one hall per day. Start at one end of the hall and zig zag back and forth down the isles till you seen everything. First thing I would do when you get to the convention center is get yourself a map of the show and figure out where your going. Ive made the mistake of wandering around the show and missed alot of stuff only to see pictures of it later on and wonder how I missed it.

As far as Partys and things like that. You will have to ask around and see whats going on that night. If you are friends with alot of vendors on Facebook you would get invites or flyers for partys or other events happening throughout the week.

Are you going by yourself or do you have a group of people going?

I am going with 2 (maybe 3) other people. 2 of the other people seem to know alot of others and both went last year, but I am sure at one point or another I may be wandering alone.

As for where I am staying. We are at the MGM.

Ive been going to SEMA since i was 14. happy to answer any questions. hit me up on here or FB.

Parking there sucks. so if you are close enough to the show, Cab or ride the monorail.
Eat before and after you get there. $$$ for food at the show.
Dont ask Vendors if they will sponsor you. its bad timing.
Dont waste your time waiting in massive lines for some models autograph.
I think the best cars are outside and around the audio area. Everything in the wheels hall "south hall" is a bunch of luxury rides on 30+ size wheels.

as far as the parties go, its been mentioned.Airth Defined is hosting the party at Insert Coins downtown Thursday. Like someone said, its always busy on Fremont street downtown pretty much every night.

Looks like I have to hit up both the two parties mentioned. I heard about those as well from following the forum. As for the models. Thank god I don't care who they are or getting their signature. I will make sure to check out the audio and outside first then move inside, just to I make sure to hit the vehicles closer to my style first.

Thanks for the heads up.

Wear good shoes. You will be clicking off some serious miles. The second year I went, I stayed in a friends toy hauler at the KOA by Circus Circus. I had the upper bunk, and when I jumped off the bunk after taking a post SEMA nap, my feet said nope and went down face first. I learned that day that Vans are not the shoe of choice if your going to try to see a lot of the show.

There is a 7-11 on the back side of the building, you just have to be good at frogger to get to it. But the food there is normal priced. The food in the cafeteria is wildly overpriced.
