Also since you are staying at the MGM Grand: THE MONORAIL IS YOUR BEST FRIEND! BUY THE 3-DAY PASS. You will not regret it. Get up in the morning, jump on the monorail and it will drop you off literally in the middle of the outside convention center. (Right where some of the best trucks and cars are). You will want to chop your feet off at the end of the day so it's awesome to just jump back on the monorail and take a seat to relax on the way back to the hotel. Trust me on this.
Your best bet is Fremont if you want to guarantee that you will be hanging with minitruckers every night. Just go there after 8pm and look for the big groups of people in front of the golden gate.
The Tito thing at the hard rock should be a good spot Wednesday night (plus it's close to the MGM)
We will also for sure be at the Airth Defined party at "Insert Coins" on Fremont street Thursday night. Surface DVD will be playing on the screens.
