Jeremy on the one I did I lowered the motor right at 1 3/4...I should of done 1 1/2...there is a power steering line right on top of the rack...that I had to bend...it ended up cracking and I had to redo it. But there is barely a cunts hair Inbetween the line and the oil pan with it lowered. Even then I had to cut the tranny tunnel and cowl up. The motor could go lower if it weren't for that line...I didn't have to cut a lot of the tunnel but it was enough. I used 2x4 under cab with no issues. Good luck with it homie. These trucks are sick laying body!!

BIG, jeremy is doing a 90 degree fitting on the rack to avoid stressing the bend... and a couple other secrets to avoid cutting the cab, but I will let him tell you.

Did you skip a certain white truck?

If you're talking about the dually, then yes. The bags I ordered for the rear were on back order and were not supposed to show up till early-mid Jan. So I pulled this one in in front of it. Wouldn't you know though... the bags showed up the day I tore this one apart. Oh well, Mike's not in a hurry and I will get it done as soon as this one is done.

With the holidays, I haven't had too much time on the truck. Here is where I am right now. I plan to move the motor down as much as possible. I was able to take about an inch out of the height of the line on top of the rack. Since Chevy decided to make the fitting a metric thread with what looks to be a SAE taper, I couldn't find a fitting anywhere. I made do though. Here is what I came up with for the line...The frame has been cleared of the motor, trans, gas tank, wires, lines, ect and I moved it to the plate to build the new frame rails. The body is up on stands in the garage, times like this I really wish I had a lift...

Hopefully I will have the engine mounts repositioned and the motor back in place tomorrow. I also plan to have the body mounts separated from the frame and maybe even the old rails removed. I dropped the factory gas tank off at Mouse's shop today so he can build a nice new aluminum gas tank for it.

Nice. I need to rack your brain about what fittings you used. I search for days trying to find a fitting and couldn't come up with nothing. I'm most likely fixing to do another one here soon. Keep upturn good work homie. Between you and Chad I'm sure this one is destined for a cover!!

I just brazed a #4 elbow (which was cut down as small as possible) to the factory line (which was cut as close to the nut as possible while still being able to get the rod in between to braze them). Then just a straight fitting on the other side. I'll be able to put the engine really close to the fitting without having to worry about the line cracking. I did what you said you did the first try. As soon as I tried to bend it, it started to kink.
I am also going to move the cab backwards when I do the body mounts. That will close up the gap in the bed/ cab, give me more room for the wheels/ tires on the firewall, give me more room for the trans, and center the wheel in the wheel well when laid out.
When I do the motor drop I am also going to move the motor forward. I'll give you measurements when I actually get it done. Two piece drive shaft is in the works as well.

Ah I see what you did now...nice. In the next couple months i'm gonna be building a frame and Helping Mike body his 07...its the Black with Blue Flames on Intro 26's that was on the cover of Truckin a while back...I'm trying to remember all the problems I had on the first one I bodied and the power steering line was a big one...Nice that you found a remedy for it. I know the steering ended up being a PITA...when I moved the booster...I just went over with it...had I went up and over it would of cleared...but I ended up having to do a funky steering shaft with universal joints. I know I had to clearance a section of the floor for the Cat...but other than that it was pretty strait forward. I was able to push the AC back and keep it stock... Can't wait to see what you come up with...

Motor is back in, moved forward 1-1/2" and dropped 1-3/4". You can see I have plenty of clearance between the motor and the fitting.here's a shot of the motor mount

Looking good Jeremy! Thanks for all your hard work

The body mounts are tacked to the plate and the frame rails have been removed. The body mounts have been lowered 3-1/2" and moved backwards 1". This will provide the body drop, close up the gap between the cab and bed, center the wheels in the front wheel wells and make the tubs in the firewall a bit smaller.Hopefully new frame rails in tomorrow!
