Well got a little work in before Christmas. I don't know if I'm getting lazy or just loosing a little motivation. Probably the fact that I have to work on the wire harness now, and the firewall. I bough me a lil harbor freight $14 paint gun to test me skills on some of these motor parts. I didn't want everything to be black.

Did you have a whole new driveshaft made to mate the trans to the rear or did you have the two combined into one?

Its been about 5 yrs since I had it done, but I'm pretty sure I had took my factory shaft to them and the factory shaft out of the J yard, for the RX7 irs, so they could cut what they need off to mate to my shaft. I just gave them a measurement from the output on my transmission to the differential. Its pretty cheep to get done, Just make sure they balance it.

Ah ok, I was wondering if they would need the whole shaft from the rear or not. Someone was telling me to just have them make a whole new shaft. I figured that would get costly.

Well to be honest i think a section of the shaft was new, and its been so long i dont remember what he charged me. But my buddy just got one made from scratch for around $250. Im sure it depends on allot of things, material, length and if that person is busy or not. Just call around all the places you can and get some quotes, also see what they suggest, making new or editing old.

haha, yeah it barely made it. I got it back from powder coat, the week of the show. then had to get back to work shortly after so had to put off working on it for a while. Now I got some more time off to get some work in on it.
