Not to get back on topic or anything, but...
After my Dad closed his doors, I went to work running equipment and driving a truck for a masonry contractor. Like all typical SoCal Contractors, he had a bunch of Illegal Aliens working for him, too. The Owner also ran a masonry supply center out of the yard, so they had a handful of other drivers, including myself, that would haul material, equipment, etc to the jobsites.
Anyway…these guys never, and I mean never, strapped anything down. It was incredible. I drove an old beat down ’75 C60 and they used to talk crap about me in Spanish cause I was always so paranoid about chaining stuff down. These guys would run way overloaded all day long on low/flat tires with nothing tied down or covered or anything. They were way hard on equipment, too. Busting springs, blowing out tires, etc. Even after several dozen overloaded and non-compliance citations company-wide, the owner would still bust my balls cause I would always run “half emptyâ€
