You may want to re-trace your battery cables and make sure they are not touching the frame or something else that would ground them out. I had this happen on my 1971 chevy truck...put new cables on and as soon as i did the battery went dead. Turns out one of the clips on the frame broke and the cable welded itself to the frame. So much for that New $125 Optima battery. Also make sure the other grounds are good too. Most cars have a ground from the engine to the frame and also one from the engine or frame to the body.
