I feel your pain PigRig....I have more car knowledge in my peckerhead than most of the staff at O'Reily's. I usually just go in an walk to the back and pick out what I need pay and leave without talking to anyone.
I wish I could do that
but naturaly I have vent my displesher and tell them that I think thay are the dumbest SOB on the face of the earth or we have to have a pissing match over who is right me or their computer
or you piss them off by telling them to look it up in the book (thay don't know how )
Yeah, I do that at NAPA here. I even bill myself out. Sometimes I walk in, get what I need, bill it out, sign the ticket, and walk right on out. You aught to see the faces on some of the customers waiting to be helped when I do that!
yea abuddy of mine owns a napa here. I have no problems and if I can't find something I turn him on to it
I don't like going through him for every thing so that way he dosen't feel like the only resone we are freinds is so I can buy parts at his coast
We accually had one of the last independantly-owned parts stores left. They were pretty bad-ass in there. Bunch of old-timers that knew their stuff.
They had everything. And I mean EVERYTHING. If you needed a door latch for your '63 Galaxy, they either had it, or knew where to get it in 24 hrs.
The place was ALWAYS filled with cigarette smoke, and theres was always at least three grizzled old-timers hangin out and shootin the shit. I loved that place. You got caught dickin' around in there and you got your ass kicked right out the front door.
They had to close because of all the "big competition". It was sad. I flew my flag at half-mast that day.
Now we have an Autozone run by some pizza-faced kid, who doesn't know the difference between a spark plug and a power steering pump.
