I thought I read at one time the stiffer the chassis the better the ride. I know width wont make much of a difference in stregth but I thought it would stiffen things up. I doubt that guy with the crew/ext is going to be doing much towing. I was definetly going to use 1/4" wall, I just didn't know what other people have used on these big ol' trucks.

Might i suggest Viagra??? Mabey some kind of topical cream??

If you REALLY want a stiff chassis put a rollcage in it

I was just kicking around ideas. I like to get input from people who have done it. Around here there is no one to ask, they think what I do is stupid. Crank the torsion bars throw some lift blocks under it have a sticker put on the side and cut off the exhaust and you got yourself a bad ass ride according to most around here. I just hate to not make it strong enough. Hell 4 x 2 is alot cheaper than 4 x 4.

I accidentally deleted your #. Sometimes I'm kinda dumb. I got a regular cab I forgot I had I think it may work. Resend me your # I might still be int.

2x4 or 2x6 will be fine as long as there are enough crossmembers. And yes husk the stiffer the frame the better the suspension will work. (racecar builders call the frame the 5th spring). 2x4 will be easier to graft into your front clip
