the ptc comes with some kinda red thread sealant already on it.

ooooh, well then crank it down half a turn before it brakes

the angle doesn't matter, unless they are mounted with the open end up 75 degrees and now full of crap. As far as the teflon goes use the liquid teflon.

well crap, i am going to inflate it with the good ole air compresser directly and bypass the valves all together, see if is still deflates

It's possible that you don't have enough pressure on the back side of the valve. If there's not enough pressure on the back side of the valves, then the weight of the truck can force air back through the valves. If you by pass the valves with the shop compressor, and still have the problem, start looking for a leak in the fittings, airline, etc. Hope that helps Hoagie

^ yea what the smart guy said ya

yea, it still leaks with the shop compresser. wtf!!! both sides leak.
now what im thinkin is, the ptc's that i got had some sorta red sealant already on them, and they didn't turn far into the bag threads till it got tight, and it recomends on the bags not to use thread sealant, are the bags threads tapered to not use sealant?? i thought it weird that they didn't thread more then 1/4th of an inch into the bag.

yes the threads are tapered std. pipe thread you should beable to turn the fitting three turns by hand if you turn more the threads we're cut to deep

thats what my pipe fitters hand book sez

like I said in my PM soapy water its a wonderful invention
you can turn your garage into the lorance welk show

I have never heard not to use thread sealant on bags. Did it say not to use tape or sealant all together.
Like door said, if there is no pressure on the back side of the valves they will leak down, I always use check valves between the fill valves and the tank so if my tank loses pressure the truck wont drop. I use the ones from like lowes, swing check valves in the plumbing department. Or you can buy expensive spring loaded ones for like 4 times the price.
When you hooked it up to the shop compressor did you unhook the valves? If you left them in and hooked up the shop compressor it would of still leaked at the valves. If you suspect they are leaking at the bags then unhook the valves and t the lines together and put a schraeder valve "tire valve" on the T and put air in it and see if it leaks. I would do it with everything unhooked but the bags. Then it will narrow it down to what is leaking.

Could it be your gauge line? Not to sound like an ass but did you hook it up to the gauge. I do stupid stuff like that all the time.
