So, after i finialy figured out how to remove the caliper i got to the spindal.. what a pain. Those brakes suck.. and i still dont know what the small little metal piece is... but im thinking it is important ( break piece, shim maybe?)

then i got the lower control arm off and the new one on.. i thought i was set.. nope.. stock castle nut wont fit on the after market balljoint. bumer.. so now.. i have a truck with a lowering spring and LCA on one side, stock on the other. and a half tight castle nut.

after measuring the drop... seems to be only about a inch.. i was so sad at this point and overwhelmed with frustration.. ( those brakes are a bitch..) that i threw in the towel for the day..

Any tips... if the back end is half this hard im going to puke.

im getting old.. uhh

Thanks for reading...

Hang in there. Its not that bad.

Post a pic of the "small metal piece". I'm sure someone here can tell you what it is.

well if the sway bar is hooked up when you put the other side together it will drop more.

U must have slide on calipers...so your going to need that little metal piece to re install them.

Rule #1 in regards to dually ownership:

Buy a HEAVY DUTY floor jack and jackstands. You're lifting and supporting 7,500+ pounds.

...and yeah, your gonna need that shim. I hope you don't plan on driving the truck before you put that back in...it holds your caliper in place.

i had a heavyduty jack and stands.. both torpedowed on me. Its ok..

Can you give me a tip on how to get that small little shim back in there?

I got the plate to slide back in
( the one with one allen bolt in it ) but can not get the small shim to go in.
Im getting a pic of it now.. hold on.

Thanks J...
