I'm ready to ditch my bolt-in BellTech notch just because I keep hitting it, and I'm just static flipped in the back of a C2500LD. I'm guessing it's probably the same notch as the C1500 item but ya know what? a 14 bolt SF axle housing is larger than a 10 bolt...
There are bends in the flat part where the bump stop is screwed in. :p Time to make my own, and make it a little taller.
Richard
Well she was unbolted grinded pulled together welded .. and bolted weled n drove home
lets see some pics of the new one!
We have seen this several times on some of the dually trucks we have owned through the years. Bed ended up holding the frame together.
Bummer.
After seeing that and hearing this:
...I think I'm gonna run a fat bead around my notch while I have the truck stripped down to the frame.
Was the notch centered over the axle??? A lot of times people do the before the axle is flipped, and it's not centered in the notch.
The combination of the bolt in install and the way those bags are mounted appear to be the cause of the failure. I have some friends with bolt in notches And helper bags in a different location and they haven't had any issues. Glad you caught it when you did.
Could you have box part of the frame.Did you use a torch to c notch the frame?
trashed old bed
Some people took it for scrap
Wow I missed having a gas DOOR!!
I bought the truck lowered already.
