New to DuallyScene and really need some help. I have a 2000 2wd Chevy dually crew cab and want to put 24 inch alcoas on it. The previous owner bagged and notched it but left the stock leafs on it. I am willing to redo the entire set up but want to know what is the best way to go about it. 4 link, subframe? do i have to shorten the rear? stretch the fenders? Im putting a fuel cell in it to make room for the new suspension. I dont care to lay frame but want to get as low as possible when aired down without a body drop and want to tuck the 24s. Please help!

ok first off its gonna be alot of work....but you can either shorten the rear axle and build your link setup or you can keep the stock rear end and widen the fenders...or you can get a C&C rear end or a 3/4 ton single wheel rear...all these are options...post pics of the truck

Thanks for the info. Question, if I remove the leafs, can I use parallel 4 links outside the frame rails with the 24 inch alcoas? I'm concerned about clearance. Most likely I will widen the fenders since it needs bodywork anyway. I will post some pics soon.

I ran my parallel on the ouside of the frame. But im not running 24's. but i have stock wheels with alot of clearence. Hopefully this will help.

Thanks. If anyone has any other suggestions or anything I should know before I start, I would appreciate the input. Great site, look toward to talking with you guys as I progress. Again, thanks. By the way, gonna go with the 4 link outside the rails and stretch the fenders.

Been awhile since I posted but this is what I'm up to; got the 24's got the adapters ( had to find a shop to machine them cause they came a little small in the hub area) just found out gotta do heads on the engine. My question is can I swap a 3/4 ton rear into it to get the rear wheels into the wells and do 3/4 front hubs suck the front wheels in enough under the fenders? If so, what to do with control arms? Thank you.

How much shorter was the srw axle than the dually one?

Would also like to know the difference in width between the Dually one ton and the srw 3/4 ton.
