ah...Maaco, my dad gave me my grad gift in 1988...$400. It went to Maaco for a nice yellow paint job for my 76 blazer. Drove my gutted blazer (no windshield) blazer from cheyenne to fort collins...it was awesome... anyway paint turned out great!

ive used the slime before its ok works pretty good if you get the kind that dries completely it works a lot better and when you wash the vehicle it turns into soap when water gets on it i like it alright i guess but mostly i cover what i dont painted in plastic its a lot easier

I personally would go the Macco route if, you know what product they will use on your vehicle. These cheap shit products these days don't stand up to UV rays all that well, and if you get alot of sun where you live???

Gut it and hand it over, I would be there when they shoot it just to be sure they actually use the product they say they are going to use.

But in the end...you get what you pay for.

I have had guys ask me for a quote. laugh in my face and leave. Then come back a month later asking for help cause the paint is peeling off their ride in sheets, or they've had some "issues" with whoever painted it, and the products they used.

I just show them the door, cause I won't go over some shit paint job and have some problem with something the previous shop did. Not cause of the whole "I told you so" aspect, but because if I can't go down to metal and come back up, I won't shoot it. Which means the paint job is going to cost more than the original quote I gave them in the first place.

Trust me Campy, you are going to spend ALOT of time prepping that beast. Once you do all the hard work, what's shooting a little base/clear gonna matter?

Plus if you ever have to paint anything again you alredy have everything you need.

Go to NAPA and get the stsrter pack from Devilbiss, it costs like $200.00 and you get a HVLP gravity primer gun and a base/clear gun. Good products for the price...I own a set.
