I know you guys get all horny for build up pics so.......here are a bunch from the hot rod that my dad & I are building. If anyone is interested here is a link to a photobucket album. Lots of pics - as many as photobucket would let me post. This is the link This is what the rod looks like currently. 7 years of work so far but we have done everything ourselves. This is also why my dually has kind of been on the back burner & I am just now getting to it. The order of the pics is mixed up in photobucket, everytime I try to fix it it mixes them up again. Enjoy.

And just to give you an idea how far we have come, here it is a few years ago

By the way for those of you who have seen the post on my dually buildup - Note the creative use of the swing set Not just for pulling engines

looks good man! Keeping it traditional?

The car will stay traditional. it may get a set of torque thrust D's to put it in the sixties but no newer. Dad bought the car in 1968 & drove it for a few years but it was built pretty crude. we have redone pretty much everything. between my dad & I we have about 1000 hours in the metalwork in the car. new cowl patch panels, new 1/4 patch panels, new wheelwells, fabbed firewall, new subframe, gas tank mounts (the car is a 30 & the stock gas tank was in the cowl - right on you lap basically. we added a 32 gas tank out back & tried to make it look like it grew there.). new mounts for the steering (connecting rods - not just for engines anymore!), brakes, e brake etc. new chassis underneath, ford 8 inch rear, 69 350, th350 trans. the wide whites that are on it are actually mine for my tudor (the other oldie in the pictures). dad has also been looking at a set of wire wheels with wide whites on them, painted red of course. If I remember correctly dad paid $1200 for the car in 1968 & had to finish putting it together before he could drive it. after I get my dually mobile & driveable, my hot rod is next in line for the magic swing set's touch. I already have my engine built for my hot rod. Here's a teaser, 1958 283, edelbrock intake, 3 2 barrels carbs with a super T10 to back it up.

Carbs don't match.
toner283   +1y

they are different. the center one is a regular carb. idle circut, choke, the whole deal. the outer carbs are modified, no choke, no idle circut, thicker throttle blades, an extra spring holding the plates shut etc. basically the outside ones are a bucket with a hole in the bottom, once you crack them open they just pour fuel into the engine. with a progressive linkage the outside ones do not start to open until 1/2 throttle. same idea as the back barrels on a four barrel carb. and yes I need to get them re anodized but I have not done much to my car in a few years. we have been working steadily on dads car. next summer maybe.
