The dually left last week for the body shop. It comes back in May completely finished... after 22 years. The garage seems very empty now that the dually is gone.

We ended up buying a whole new cab that was in much nicer shape, and consists entirely of GM parts.
We ordered a one piece window kit from one-piece-products, Ben is awesome to deal with!
I am going to the body shop in two weeks, I'll come back with some pictures!

Now I can finish off my '89 C1500 budget project. New bumper & KID kit + Paint & Bodywork and its done.

Okay everyone, it's been a while since I posted.

the truck was sent out in Feb. to a shop for the final touches. body work, paint, electrical, and anything else that was minor that we've overlooked.

the motor we initially built up was fucked... pardon my language, but 8g into a motor that would have gotten you down the road once... it's a pissoff and a shame, but now ... we know. Learn the hard way I guess.

We had opened up the motor before we were going to break it in, only to find dirt, sludge, and PAINT! inside the motor, AND NO RTV ON THE INTAKE!!!

Okay... so old motor out... and it was sent to a good machine shop a few hours away. They bored it out .030 to bring everything back to check.

here's what was replaced in the motor, it went from 410hp and 410ft/lbs (old motor) to 550-ish hp and 600-ish ft/lbs torque.

-Cam is now .500/.505 speedpro
-Replaced elec. Moroso water pump with mech. Weiand pump
-Replaced Pete Jackson gear drive to a double roller timing chain for reliability reasons
-Pistons were swapped out from a mild 9.3-9.4:1? to a 10:1 piston
-the orignial valve springs were binding at wide open exhaust, so new springs, rockers, lifters to match new cam
-the original intake didn't come on early enough, so it was swapped it out for an Edelbrock AirGap

other stuff we've changed.

-Rearend has been rebuilt
- TH400 is gone and in it's place, a 700R4 2200rpm stall, manual valve body, kevlar belts
- 2 or 1? leafs out of the 10,000lb leafs were pulled lowering back another 1"

The chassis has been completely disassembled and everything prepped with DP90 [thanks George, heh]/DP401, then painted gloss black. the box, doors, cab, fenders, and hood have all been painted with a couple coats of base and clear.

The 22g fuel cell is installed in the box. One piece products side windows are installed. SIXTY MOTHERFUCKING HOURS of labour into the roll pan. The roll pan on this truck costs more than most peoples daily driver. the truck is shaved and the door poppers are installed. The front and back glass is installed. NO AC, NO JUNK.

Ordered a bunch of stuff from LMC, including heavy duty wiring harnesses, some lights, door panels, a bunch of billet crap.

We went to the scrap yard and picked up some bucket seats out of a 1986 Suburban in mint shape as well as some stainless steel side view mirrors.

Here are some pictures from July when I was last over at the shop.

The pics are tiny on my monitor, the site automatically sizes them down or something I think.

If you just click the pictures, it'll take you to a different website with an option to view the pictures in various sizes.

If not... here is a direct link to all the pictures on my photobucket account.

New power steering box is being put on today as well as the brake boosters, prop. valves, rigid brake and fuel lines, and the steering box.

Wow...that's pretty sweet, Man.

Try to up the pic size a little. I'd like to get a better look.
